Feedback, comments & complaints policy

We want everyone to feel welcome here at our Centre regardless of age, gender, physical or mental capacity, sexual orientation or race. If you ever feel like there is a problem, please let us know so that we can address it. Thank you.

We hope you will feel welcome, safe and supported in our classes and events. We aim to show respect and consideration to everyone regardless of age, gender, physical or mental capacity, sexual orientation or race.

If you have any suggestions for how we can improve what we do, or compliments to give us, we are always wanting to hear them. We particularly welcome comments/suggestions that will encourage others to start Yoga with us. You can leave these in the Suggestions Box in the entrance hall at the Centre, email your teacher or Frances Homewood (our Director), or Lois Floyd (our Office Manager).

If at any time you experience or observe something that makes you feel uncomfortable, please tell us immediately. We will take this very seriously. You can do this by directly addressing the team member responsible OR you can tell the Centre Director in confidence by email, phone, in writing or in person. Then the complaints procedure will be followed - details below. You can also complain anonymously in writing to the Centre. Without your personal details it will be difficult to act on any incident but it can help inform our practices.

Every attempt will be made to resolve any complaints quickly, effectively and informally. However, if the complaint cannot be resolved through the channels of open and honest communication the following procedures will be followed;

1. You will be asked to provide a written statement about the incident, covering the information stated above. (If providing a written statement is not possible for you then please let us know and we will be happy to arrange for the report to be recorded orally or by a third party of your choice).

2 . We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint as soon as possible.

3 Then discuss your complaint with you to understand why you are dissatisfied and what outcome you are looking for.

If your complaint refers to both people listed, and you do not feel able to discuss the issue with either of them then you can either request details of a third person, e.g. another teacher or external mediator, or refer the complaint directly to IY(UK), the national governing body for Iyengar Yoga Teachers and Centres: https://iyengaryoga.org.uk
