Winter Restorative Classes

First Fridays & Third Thursdays of the month, with Frances Homewood & Helen Clay

Restorative yoga is for you if you want to…..

·        deeply relax your body and soothe your nervous system

·        find an excellent antidote to stress

·        quieten a busy mind

·        improve, breathing, mobility and flexibility

·        aid recovery from illness and fatigue

·        cultivate awareness, compassion and understanding toward yourself and others.

What can I expect from a restorative yoga class?

Restorative classes slow down and restore ease to body, breath, mind and emotion. They differ from usual classes in that they involve just a small number of reclining or seated postures which are held for longer periods, supported by props such as folded blankets, blocks, and bolsters or pillows. The props, rather than your muscles, support your body, allowing muscles to stretch passively and relax deeply. If it is chilly, keep your socks on since you will not be warming up the body the way you would in a regular class. At the end of class people typically feel more open, harmonised and refreshed.
