What our students are saying... Lovely calm environment.  I feel stronger and am aware of my posture all the time, not just in class. A beautiful space to practice. Generally, I feel less stiff and in better health. Iyengar yoga practice has helped reduce stiffness I experienced after other sporting activities.  I never imagined sticking at yoga, but a year in, I won’t be stopping. I joined for flexibility and strength, and stay for the balance of mind and spirit.  I couldn’t imagine life without yoga now. I feel I’ve progressed and I’ve stopped smoking. It keeps me healthy and gives me an opportunity to centre myself during a busy week. Always feel calmed and relaxed after the classes. I have noticed a huge improvement in my flexibility, posture and overall body awareness.  I really enjoy the friendliness and warmth of the class. A nice way to be active in a calm and relaxing way.  It has eased the strain on my joints from all the sport I play. Teachers take great care ensuring the poses are suited to each student. I’ve gained a calmer mind for day-to-day stress I’ve gained more awareness of posture in daily life.  Coming to classes makes me feel “reset”, especially during stressful periods.  I always return home feeling much more positive. I can feel the benefits both physically and mentally. I like the serenity at the yoga centre - it is light and airy. Yoga is good for combating the physical and mental consequences of sitting at a desk all day. I never thought I could do so much with my body. Teachers are all very professional here.  They know how to handle difficulties and make improvements for every student.  It feels like all shapes, sizes and abilities are welcome, without judgement. Immeasurable benefits to me, physically and emotionally, and socially too. I came with a very bad back, but it has improved considerably. The centre is an excellent facility in the community.  It enables access for all and its teachers are thoughtful and considerate. Friendly and welcoming environment and teachers. I have achieved things I would have thought impossible! I have gained physical and mental stability. Yoga helps with my flexibility, particularly due to my sedentary job. I find the classes stimulating and relaxing at the same time. Yoga has helped me build and maintain strength and flexibility, especially in my hips and back. Fantastic.  I couldn’t touch my toes.  I certainly couldn’t stand on my head!  I was stiff and tight and now I’m not.  It’s a great discipline which has complemented my running, gym and swimming exercise.  If you think it’s not for you, think again! I value the clarity of the teaching and the teacher’s willingness to go over things again when I don’t fully understand. Very friendly and professional.  Classes are to a very high standard.  I feel I am making progress. After a class I feel as though I’ve had a good workout and feel really well.  When I started attending the centre my back gave me a lot of problems and I often had to take painkillers.  Now my back is back to normal duties, like gardening.  I’m in my 60s and find that I’m able to do poses that I couldn’t do ten years ago.  To feel that I’m improving rather than going downhill is very heartening! I value the calming and strengthening it’s brought into my life. Wonderful for body and mind.  I couldn’t imagine my life without yoga now. I joined Frances’s yoga class a couple of years after a very close bereavement. It has been my saviour, physically and mentally. When I walk into the building it feels like coming home to myself. I love the way Iyengar yoga is taught.  I feel I understand a lot more about yoga and feel more in touch with my body. I value the mental benefits of taking time out in a tranquil space. An oasis of calm. I began Iyengar yoga after a hip replacement.  The strengthening and revival of muscles was so important for full physical recovery. I came for improved flexibility, but the classes give you so much more: balance and strength as well as a range of relaxation techniques. It’s made a huge difference to how I manage long-term back pain.  I like the balance of body, mind and spirit. Friendly classes with helpful teachers. Excellent teaching, friendly and welcoming, good range of classes and workshops. Always a lovely, calm atmosphere which helps enormously.  A high level of teaching - I can feel the benefits physically and emotionally. I have thoroughly enjoyed coming to the yoga centre.  Whilst I joined primarily to improve my flexibility, I have also found the relaxation element very beneficial.  Even if I’ve had a stressful day at work I always leave feeling much more relaxed and calm.The yoga at the centre is excellent, with clear instructions and a well-structured class allows you to progress week by week. I’ve gained improved fitness and mental well-being.  I’ve learned skills that ca be practiced in day-to-day life, wherever you are! The quality of the teaching is always excellent.  It helps considerably with my back, shoulder and neck pain. I started yoga to improve flexibility and strength but now enjoy it just as much for how it helps my mind - I always feel relaxed after the class and it helps me deal with the stresses of work/life. I had previously suffered lots of tension headaches, and all the focused work around shoulders and neck has helped greatly. It’s the only “me” time in my week and I notice how much calmer and more centred I feel after a class. I took up yoga in my late teens to combat depression and bad posture.  Over more than twenty years it has helped me cope with physical, emotional and all manner of life events with an even and composed mind and healthy body. Friendly and precise teaching that takes account of my limitations while still always encouraging me to push myself. I always go home with a smile no matter what! I absolutely love these classes - they help me to fully engage with each pose and work to my own ability. Excellent teaching geared to individual needs. It has massively built my confidence over the months - I love it. I began at 60 and feel much better than I did before.  More confident that my aging body doesn’t have to feel stiff!
